Insurance is now my subject

The State Commissioner for education Mr. Segun Odubela, said that the Ogun State Government on Wednesday 24 September, 2014 plans to introduce Insurance as a subject in the Senior Secondary School from thee 2014/2015 Academic Session after receiving 900 copies of Insurance text books donated by the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria ( CIIN). He promised the recruitment of Teachers for the Insurance subject would soon begin. He urged the institute to assist the state in training & re-training teachers after the recruitment exercise as he commended the institute's effort for this donation. Also, the relevant departments in the ministry would review the books and make appropriate recommendations. Mr. Bola Temowo the President of CIIN said the need to promote the study of Insurance in public secondary Schools in the country informed the donation. It is also part of the campaign strategy by the Institute to promote teaching of Insurance and that CIIN and its members will be ready to render their assistance to the government when necessary.
